‘The change we need’: Anthony Scaramucci shreds ‘incompetent’ Trump as he endorses Harris

Anthony Scaramucci sang the praises of Kamala Harris and shredded his former boss as he announced his endorsement.

Scaramucci, often referred to as “The Mooch,” is best known for his 10-day stint as the White House director of communications under former President Donald Trump.

Scaramucci has become a vocal anti-Trump conservative voice, and on Thursday endorsed Kamala Harris in Fortune, writing that “she is the candidate who can break us out of the cycle of ideological governance.”

“Her commonsense policies align most with economic growth and social inclusion,” he said.

Scaramucci also tore into his old boss, calling his Madison Square Garden rally a “dog whistle to Charles Lindbergh’s 1939 pro-‘Americanism’ rally, featuring a portrait of George Washington between American Flags and swastikas.

While “The Mooch” supported Trump in 2016, he said Trump demonstrated “incompetence” during the pandemic and “succumbed to his nativist instincts.” To boot, when he lost the election, Trump resorted to fomenting an insurrection, he added.

“If you’re willing to overlook the blatant racism and dire warnings from more than 40 former Trump officials, including his former Vice President Mike Pence and former Chief of Staff John Kelly, because you think Trump will be better for your wallet, then I’ve got news for you: Mass deportations and tariffs are destructive to the economy,” wrote Scaramucci.

He called Trump’s economic plan “regressive” and said it benefits “the wealthiest Americans” while “hurting the working class” and “exploding the deficit.”

“Trump’s mass deportation plan would shave off 7.9% of U.S. GDP and his tariffs would trim another 1.3% off the economy, according to Bloomberg Economics. Analyses from The Wall Street Journal, Goldman Sachs, Moody’s, and 16 Nobel laureates have sounded similar warnings. The result of Trump’s policies would be an economic depression twice as steep as the 2008 financial crisis, not to mention immense human cruelty,” said Scaramucci.

On the flip side, he said Harris’ tax plan would lift incomes for Americans, including by over 13% for the bottom fifth earners.

“When voters feel like they’re being left behind, they vote for change. But Harris is the change we need, not Trump,” he said.
